Privacy Policy

RMNSC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RMNSC mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

a) Location Data

We use Apple MapKit to display maps and associate capsules with locations. When you grant location access, we collect your approximate location to place capsules on the map and provide location-based features. Location data is stored as coordinates associated with your capsules and is never shared with third parties.

b) Camera and Photos

The App uses your device camera to capture photos within capsules. Photos you take are uploaded to our secure servers (hosted on Supabase) and are only visible to members of the capsule you are participating in, subject to the visibility settings chosen by the capsule host. We do not access your device photo library unless you explicitly choose to import a photo.

c) Audio / Voice Intros

Capsule hosts may record a short voice introduction. These audio recordings are stored securely and are only played to capsule members and invite recipients.

d) Apple Music Integration

We use the Apple iTunes Search API to let hosts attach a soundtrack to their capsules. We access only publicly available song metadata and 30-second preview clips. We do not access your Apple Music library, subscription status, or listening history.

e) Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID, name (if you choose to share it), and email address (which may be a relay address). This information is used solely for authentication and displaying your name within capsules.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the App experience:

• Display capsules on a map based on their location
• Store and deliver photos within capsules to their members
• Authenticate your identity and manage capsule membership
• Show host names and avatars on invite pages
• Deliver soundtrack previews and voice intros to capsule participants

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (backed by AWS infrastructure) with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos and audio are stored in private storage buckets accessible only to authorized capsule members via row-level security policies. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

4. Data Sharing

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Within capsules: Photos, voice intros, and your display name are shared with other members of capsules you participate in.
• Invite links: Capsule cover photos, host names, and voice intros may be visible on the public invite preview page.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.

5. Your Rights

You may:

• Delete photos you have taken within capsules
• Delete your capsules (if you are the host)
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Revoke location and camera permissions at any time through your device settings

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple MapKit: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Apple iTunes Search API: Subject to Apple's Terms of Service
• Supabase: Our backend infrastructure provider (supabase.com/privacy)

8. Disclaimer of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL RMNSC, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

We are not responsible for the content uploaded by users within capsules. Users are solely responsible for the photos, audio, and other content they create and share through the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
